Role Requirements
Service, maintain, and repair advanced microscopy and imaging systems to ensure reliable performance and minimal downtime.
Diagnose and resolve faults across optical, electronic, software, and system-level components.
Install and commission new instrumentation at customer sites, ensuring successful system integration and operation.
Carry out preventative maintenance activities and support system upgrades in line with manufacturer standards.
Manage service activities from initial diagnosis through to resolution, ensuring timely and effective customer support.
Maintain accurate service documentation while building strong customer relationships through professional technical support.
Person Specifications
Degree or equivalent experience in Physics, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across complex instrumentation and technical systems.
Interest or experience in optics, microscopy, imaging technologies, or scientific equipment.
Comfortable working across both hardware and software environments.
Strong communication skills with experience supporting customers in technical settings.
Able to work independently and effectively within a field-based role.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
Package
Annual salary of £35,000-£40,000 depending on experience.
Subsistence allowance of £1,260 per annum.
Car allowance of £7,700 per annum.
Wellness allowance of £300 per annum and Employee Assistance Programme.
Home office furniture allowance of £500.

Pension scheme with matched contributions of 5-10%.

27 days annual leave, increasing to 32 days with length of service.
