Account Executive
Role Overview
We’re hiring an early-career Account Executive to join a growing commercial team within the life sciences sector. This role is suited to someone with hands-on laboratory experience who wants to move into a customer-facing position while retaining strong technical involvement.
You will work across a UK and Ireland territory, engaging with researchers in biotech, pharma, and academia. The role combines account development with scientific problem-solving, supporting customers in selecting appropriate protein, antibody, and assay solutions. You will be regularly on the road, with weekly customer visits across the London and Oxford region, bi-monthly travel across wider territories including Scotland and Ireland, and attendance at monthly tabletop events.

Role Requirements
Manage inbound enquiries while developing and maintaining relationships with customers across biotech, pharma, and academic organisations within your territory.
Build and grow accounts by identifying opportunities aligned to customer research needs and supporting long-term engagement.
Organise and attend tabletop events, seminars, and customer meetings, ensuring effective planning and follow-up.
Coordinate travel and customer visits across the UK and Ireland, maintaining consistent territory coverage.
Support quotations, tenders, and pipeline management through accurate use of CRM systems.
Present product solutions clearly, translating technical detail into relevant applications for customer workflows.
Person Specifications
1–2 years of hands-on laboratory experience, ideally within a non-academic or applied setting.
Strong technical exposure to proteins, antibodies, and assay-based techniques.
Practical experience with methods such as SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, ELISA, Flow Cytometry, SPR or BLI, and Cell Culture.
Some level of customer-facing or commercial experience, such as retail, internships, or sales exposure.
Clear motivation to build a career in scientific sales or commercial roles.
Confidence in engaging with customers and discussing technical topics.
Package
Salary dependent on experience.
Performance-based bonus structure.
Fully expensed travel including mileage, hotels, and flights.
£70 daily allowance for food during travel.
25 days annual leave.
