Field Service Engineer
Role Overview
This Field Service Engineer role focuses on the service, maintenance, installation, and support of advanced microscopy and imaging systems.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical support across your territory, working closely with customers in research, academic, and clinical environments. The role combines hands-on engineering with software and system-level troubleshooting.

Role Requirements
Service, maintain, and repair advanced imaging and microscopy systems
Diagnose faults across optical, electronic, and software systems
Install and commission new equipment at customer sites
Carry out planned preventative maintenance and system upgrades
Manage service cases end-to-end, ensuring timely resolution
Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Build strong relationships with customers and provide technical support
Person Specifications
Degree or equivalent experience in Physics, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or similar
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across complex systems
Interest or experience in optics, imaging, or scientific equipment
Comfortable working with both hardware and software systems
Strong communication skills and customer-facing experience
Ability to work independently in a field-based role
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Package
Annual base salary will depend on experience: £35-40,000
Subsistence allowance of £1,1260 per annum
Car allowance of £7,700 per annum
Wellness allowance of £300 per annum* & Employee assistance Programme
