Role Overview

You will own the coordination and delivery of laboratory services activities that directly support scientific, operational, and compliance objectives.

The role has a clear impact on how laboratories function day to day. By applying structured planning, technical expertise, and disciplined execution, you will help ensure laboratory assets are installed, maintained, and retired in a controlled and compliant manner. Company Information

Zenopa has partnered with a UK-based scientific services and asset management organisation supporting regulated laboratory environments across life sciences and animal health. The business specialises in laboratory equipment lifecycle management, scientific services delivery, and process improvement, helping laboratory teams operate safely, compliantly, and efficiently.

The organisation works directly within regulated sites, focusing on structured planning, robust systems, and data-driven decision making. Its services are designed to reduce operational risk, improve asset performance, and minimise disruption to scientific work. The environment values technical accuracy, documentation, and clear ownership of systems, with an emphasis on building sustainable, repeatable processes rather than operating reactively.

Role Requirements

Lead and deliver laboratory services and asset lifecycle projects, including lab refits, equipment installation, commissioning, relocation, and decommissioning, aligned to operational priorities, timelines, and budgets.

Manage asset lifecycle processes end to end, covering inventory control, CMMS work orders, contractor supervision, site readiness, and continuous improvement, while ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Oversee scientific services projects such as new system and process implementation, laboratory space planning, environmental and equipment monitoring, calibration programmes, and vendor coordination.

Ensure technical documentation, SOPs, risk assessments, audits, and compliance activities are maintained, accurate, and embedded in day-to-day operations, with teams appropriately trained and supported.

Collaborate with Operations, Research, Facilities, EHSS, Procurement, and external partners to support structured planning, service delivery, and site-based technical projects.

Support budget planning and financial governance, maintain operational metrics and dashboards, provide cover for senior technicians when required, and act as a reliable technical partner to HR, Finance, Legal, and Corporate Communications.

Person Specifications

Experience working in pharmaceutical, biotech, animal health, or other regulated laboratory environments, with knowledge of UK regulatory, health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Strong operational and financial understanding, including experience with budgeting, cost control, and assessing the impact of technical and operational decisions.

Proven experience coordinating teams, leading cross-functional technical projects, and delivering improvements to agreed scope, timescales, and budgets.

Background in scientific services, asset and contractor management, auditing, and laboratory equipment installation, commissioning, or decommissioning activities.

Project management experience using structured methodologies such as PRINCE, Lean Sigma, or continuous improvement frameworks.

Strong planning and data analysis capability, with experience using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and MS Project.

Clear and confident communicator, able to work effectively with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.

Customer-focused and collaborative, with the ability to build trust, manage expectations, and gain stakeholder buy-in.

Highly organised, detail-oriented, and adaptable, comfortable managing multiple priorities in regulated environments.

Demonstrates accountability, integrity, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Acts as a technical role model, supporting others through mentoring, constructive feedback, and stepping into supervisory responsibilities when required.
