NGS Sales Specialist

You will drive commercial success by combining technical expertise with entrepreneurial sales execution. Your remit is to build a strong market presence, develop new business opportunities, and establish sustainable revenue growth across biotech, pharmaceutical, CRO, and leading academic laboratories. This role is designed for a commercially driven sequencing expert who thrives in uncharted territory and excels at turning scientific potential into measurable business results.

Zenopa are working with a global life sciences innovator preparing to launch their first NGS reagent portfolio. This is a strategic market-building role with executive visibility and a chance to define how we compete and win in the reagents sector. With no legacy structures or playbooks, you will have autonomy, influence, and the opportunity to shape a new commercial footprint in an exciting growth market.
Role Requirements
Revenue Ownership – Develop territory business plans, forecast demand, and consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
Demand Generation – Leverage your NGS network, prospecting discipline, and industry events to build a strong sales pipeline.
Technical Advancement & Deal Closure – Deliver product demos, proof-of-concepts, and proposals that convert technical interest into orders.
Customer Support – Act as the primary post-sale contact, ensuring smooth onboarding, troubleshooting, and long-term account retention.
Market & Competitive Intelligence – Track industry trends and competitor activity, feeding insights into product and marketing strategy.
Internal Collaboration – Partner with Applications, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to align forecasts and shape commercial processes.
Account-Manager Partnership – Work with regional teams to uncover opportunities in the installed base and accelerate lead conversion.
Person Specifications
NGS Expertise – 3-5+ years hands-on experience with library/sample-prep workflows.
Commercial Track Record – Demonstrated success in reagent/consumable sales, exceeding quotas, and driving new business.
Entrepreneurial Mindset – Comfortable operating with limited infrastructure, able to set priorities and establish scalable processes.
Communication Skills – Skilled at translating complex technical information into compelling value propositions for both scientists and procurement teams.
Education – Bachelor’s in Molecular Biology or related field required.
Travel – Willing to travel 50%+ (including overnight) to engage accounts and attend industry events.
